Just in time for Valentines
Matchmaking service provider Tawkify announced today it acquired S’More, an “anti-superficial” dating app that had experimented with blurred profile photos, and even blurred video chats, in an attempt to get people to get to know one another without the focus on physical appearance.
With the acquisition, S’More is sunsetting its app, and founder Adam Cohen-Aslatei will instead join the Tawkify team to lead the launch of its first-ever mobile product. Deal terms were not disclosed, but S’More had raised $3.2 million in seed funding, according to Crunchbase.
Founded in 2019 by Cohen-Aslatei, S’More Date had raised a total of $3.2M in total funding across two rounds. Backers in the company include Gaingels, Boston Harbor Angels, Sidecar Angels, Social Discovery Group, LOUD Capital/Pride Fund, EQx Fund, Benson Oak Ventures, Work Play Ventures, Jordan French, Dating Group, Marty Isaac, Joshua Black, Ken Harris, Justen Stepka, Sharon Stern, Craig Mullett, Brad Weschler, Aaron Stern, Rafael Rivas, Dm V, and John Abbott. Cohen will join the Tawkify team and lead the company’s foray into mobile with a new app launch.
