In June the Pride Fund CEO Densil Porteous and Managing Partner T. Wolf Starr participated in an LGBTQ+ Venture Capital Roundtable at The White House on the 26th. This event marked a significant milestone, showcasing years of dedicated work towards fostering an inclusive landscape for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and investors.
The LGBTQ+ community, often overlooked and underserved, represents a formidable economic force. With more inclusive policies, we can significantly contribute to the U.S. economy through job creation, innovation, and impressive returns on investment. These factors are critical for economic growth and empowerment.
We extend our gratitude to Biden-Harris administration members Mayor Steve Benjamin, Assistant to the President, Senior Advisor to the President and Director of Public Engagement, Suzanna Fritzberg, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Capital Access, Michael Konczal, Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, and Jonathan Lovitz, Director of Public Affairs for their invaluable insights.
Witnessing our collective hard work through the Venture Out Partnership captured the Biden-Harris administration’s attention and was inspiring.
We are so thankful to everyone who has labored to advance LGBTQ+ people in the venture eco-system and beyond; thank you for being present in DC. This roundtable was a testament to the power of community and collaboration.
